The parable of the five wise and five foolish virgins was different from most of Jesus’ parables, but why? It was told in the last days of his life, foretelling events to come, including His persecution and death. Even today, we can learn from this parable – He wants us to be prepared! May we be ready Christians helping those in need, speaking out against injustice, keeping our lamps trimmed, and following Him.
