Like the two friends in The Count of Monte Cristo, we might feel that we should ‘get the king’, we should get what is ours. But is that the right way to think? Jesus set the example living a humble life while knowing he would come again at the end in glory.
We can hope to enter the Kingdom of Heaven but only by the grace of God. Sometimes we are kings or pawns throughout our life, but our focus should be on living our life as God would want us to. May we live a servant’s life with a servant heart, that we may do His will and serve others.
