When we think of movies with sequels, we need to look at the entire series to gain the proper perspective. Our reading of Matthew today may seem like a sequel, but it is part of the whole. We’ve seen the sequel of the Sermon on the Mount and we know that we are free from the old law in Christ.
As the salt of the earth we can take heart from this text. Restore these broken relationships. Take these words as a guide for our lives. As we find ourselves today in the latest sequel, may we bear witness as we practice Christ’s teachings!
